I like that you separate fate from destiny. There is something to be said for trying to account for the idea that we can sometimes fail to fulfill our destiny.

Being a sheep is not the way. Questioning everything and finding personal answers to those questions will help in finding the way - whatever the way is.

Being respectful to people no matter how old they are is always a good call. I learned, as I was growing up, to be respectful to my elders...and I was. Now I know that it doesn't matter how old a person is to be respectful.

It's always good to have vision and decide to go for it. It would be a travesty if one just sat dormant and became dissapointed when things didn't go the way they expected. Trying the best one can is the only way one can find results, no matter what the outcome may be.

Being nice to kids is tantamount to being able to see, walk, talk, live. It is a given. Kids are here to teach us and we are here to help them to teach us. And it is our responsibility to love them and show them the way. It is a privilege to have kids. So I agree with you completely when it comes to "don't take it out on the kids" because you're in a horrible mood. It's not their responsibility that the adult decides to be recalcitrant. They are trying to find their way and it's up to us to help them to lovingly find it.
